Bamboo-hook storage box (dutch + english pattern)

Hier is het dan, mijn eerste zelf geschreven haakpatroon! best TROTS op.. het is maar een klein en eenvoudig project maar ik ben heel blij met mijn box, het is niet alleen perfect om de haaknaalden in op te bergen maar ook om ze mee te nemen onderweg zonder dat ze kunnen breken, want zeker de dunnere maten zijn toch best kwetsbaar. Onder de foto's vind je het gratis patroon.

There it is, my first self witten crochet pattern! quite PROUD of it.. It's just a small and easy project but I'm really happy with my box, not only is it perfect to store hooks but also to take them safely with you when traveling, without any change of breakage. Because especialy the small size hooks are quit fragile I think. Please scroll down for free English pattern.

HET PATROON

Wat heb je nodig:
• Een lege koker van gebitsreiniging tabletten (afm. 17,5x2,5 cm)

• Ca. 15 gram fingering (4-ply) garen

       Ik gebruikte ‘DROPS Fabel kleur: Zout & Peper nr.905’

• Haaknaald 2,25mm (2,50mm als je strak haakt)

• Kleine knoop voor de sluiting (afm. 10 mm)

• Grote knoop voor in het dekseltje (afm. 25-27 mm)

gebruikte Steken:

st – steek

mr – magische ring

l – losse

v – vaste

hv – halve vaste

opmerking:
De losse aan het begin van iedere ronde telt niet als steek.

body:

Ronde 1 : 6v in MR (6)

Ronde 2 : 1l, 2v in elke st, sluit met een hv (12)

Ronde 3 : 1l, [2v in de volgende st, 1v] [6x] sluit met een hv (18)

Ronde 4 : 1l, [3v, 2v in volgende st] [4x] 2v, sluit met een hv (22)

Ronde 5 : 1l, 1v in de achterste lus van elke st, deze ronde NIET sluiten (22)

Vanaf hier haak je in spiralen zonder de rondes te sluiten

Ga door tot je de juiste hoogte hebt bereikt en de koker mooi in je werk past

Nadat je de goede hoogte hebt bereikt haak je nog één ronde van alleen hv

deksel:

Neem een start draad van ongeveer 20cm lang, deze gebruik je later om de knoop in het dekseltje te naaien.

Ronde 1 : 6v in MR (6)

Ronde 2 : 1l, 2v in elke st, sluit de ronde met een hv (12)

Ronde 3 : 1l, [2v in de volgende st, 1v] [6x] sluit met een hv (18)

Ronde 4 : 1l, [2v in volgende st, 2v] [6x] sluit met een hv (24)

Ronde 5 : 1l, [2v in volgende st, 3v] [6x] sluit met een hv (30)

Ronde 6 : 1l, 1v in achterste lus van iedere st, sluit met een hv (30)

Ronde 7-11 : 1l, 1v in iedere steek, sluit met een hv (30)

Ronde 12 : 1l, 14v, 4l, sla 2 st over, 14v, sluit met een hv (30)

Knip de draad af op 20cm lengte, deze gebruik je straks om het dekseltje aan de body te naaien.

de afwerking:

• Doe de koker in het hoesje.

• Naai met de startdraad de grote knoop in het dekseltje.

• Plaats het dekseltje op de koker en gebruik de einddraad om het deksel aan
   de achterkant met een paar steekjes vast te naaien.

• Naai tenslotte het kleine knoopje aan de voorkant. That’s it.. veel plezier met 
   je storage box!

THE PATTERN

you’ll need:

• An empty tube of dental-cleaning-tablets

      (height 17,5cm x diameter 2,5cm)

    • Approx. 15g fingering (4-ply) yarn

      I used ‘DROPS FABEL, Color: Salt & Pepper no.905’

    • Hook size 2,25mm (2,50mm if you are a tight crocheter)

    • Small button for closing (size 10mm)

    • Big button for cap (size 25-27mm)

abbreviations: (us terms)

  mr – magic ring

      st(s) – stitch(es)

      ch – chain

      sl.st  – slip stitch

      sc – single crochet

      blo – back loop only

note:

The ch at the beginning of each round does not count as a st.

body:

Round 1 : 6sc into mr

Round 2 : ch1, 2sc in each st, close round with sl.st (12)

Round 3 : ch1, [ 2sc in next st, sc ] [repeat x6] close round with sl.st (18)

Round 4 : ch1, [ 3sc, 2sc in next st ] [repeat x4] 2sc, close round with sl.st (22)

Round 5 : ch1, sc in each st in blo, do not close the round (22)

From here on up work the body in spirals, without closing the rounds.

Please check the height of your work as you go by placing the tube in your work.

Once you’ve reached the required height finish with one more round of sl.sts

cap:

Keep a starting tail on your cap approx. 20cm long, you’ll need it later for sewing the big button into the cap.

Round 1 : 6sc into mr (6)

Round 2 : ch1, 2sc in each st, close round with sl.st (12)

Round 3 : ch1, [ 2sc in next st, sc ] [repeat x6] close round with sl.st (18)

Round 4 : ch 1, [ 2sc in next st, 2sc ] [repeat x6] close round with sl.st (24)

Round 5 : ch 1, [ 2sc in next st, 3sc ] x6, close round with sl.st  (30)

Round 6 : ch1, sc in each st in blo, close round with sl.st (30)

Round 7-11 : ch1, sc in each st, close round with sl.st (30)

Round 12 : ch1, 14sc, ch4, skip next 2 st, 14sc, close round with sl.st (30)

Cut yarn leaving a 20cm tail, you'll use it to sew the cap on to the body.

finishing:

• Place the tube in your work.

• Sew the big button into the cap by using the starting tail.

   The button will prevent the needles from poking through the top.

• Place the cap onto the body, use the end tail to sew them together 

   at the backside with a few small stitches.

• To finish your project, sew the small button onto the body. 

   There you are.. all done!
